Vonkat TENfive Shock for Sur-Ron/Segway/Talaria

The Vonkat TENfive shock is made specifically for Sur-Ron, Segway, and Talaria lightweight electric motorcycles. Internally, the speed-sensitive valving is designed to account for not only the leverage ratio and weight of these bikes, but also the way electric bikes deliver power to the ground.

While it's hard to describe how a shock feels, we'll give it a shot. The TENfive has a positive, aggressive, and predicable feel. If you've ever charged towards a corner preceded by braking bumps, then grabbed the binders only to have your back end play hopscotch, you already know the stock shock isn't up to the task. The TENfive will track through turns and rock gardens like you're on rails, and land jumps with a predictability that keeps you in the flow. You'll find yourself able to hit sections faster, with more control and confidence.
  • Body is made from cold-forged 6061, T6 heat-treated aluminum.

  • Japanese made NOK brand seals and top-of-the-line Fuchs "World Design" fluid.

  • Teflon coated eyelet bearings allow linkages to work with zero binding, increasing small bump compliance

  • Moto-style preload and lock rings

  • Choose either a 450 X 3.69 or 525 X 3.66 lightweight steel spring rates.

  • All mounting bushings included

  • Preload wrench included

TENfive Care and Feeding

Mounting bushing are different

A quick glance, and you might think that the upper and lower aluminum mounting bushings are identical... but they're not. On the compression (reservoir) end of the shock, the "collar" of the bushings is 5.5mm, while the rebound end is 3.8mm.

Adding compression and rebound

To add compression damping, turn the blue knob clockwise. To add rebound damping, turn the red knob counterclockwise.

Check your PSI

Periodically check the PSI of your reservoir, particularly if you're an aggressive rider. It should be between 115-145 PSI. If allowed to go below this threshold, it will have a negative effect on your damping characteristics. While your unit comes filled with nitrogen from the factory, it's okay to use a shock pump to top it off. Use only a shock pump, however, as they can achieve the correct PSI level with a low volume of air. Tire pumps and air compressors move high volumes quickly and can blow out seals.

Service your shock

Having regular service done on your shock is the key to keeping it in the bast shape possible, particularly your initial service. One easy way to stay on top of your maintenance is to use a notetaking app on your phone. Type in your start time at the beginning of your ride, and the end time when you finish. From that, calculate the amount of saddle time you had that day. It only takes a couple of minutes to do this for each ride, and takes the guesswork out of knowing where you are for total riding time.
